What To Do Before Starting A Renovation Project

To ensure safety during a renovation project at home, it's important to know the year your house was built. If it was built before 1978, there may be lead-based paint and/or asbestos present. It's recommended by the EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) to hire a certified inspector or risk assessor to test for lead-based paint. If unsure of the age of your home, assume the area being renovated has lead-based and asbestos.
